Torchwood

The second recovered post from a few days ago...

A few years back, JT got me hooked on Doctor Who (the newer series). I thought it was garbage at first but then as I sat to watch it, I was immediately interested in the storyline. We were excited when we heard about the spinoff series called Torchwood. But somehow, I was never able to find out when the episodes came on in the United States and what channel. Several months back, as I strolled through the cable guide to find something to watch I came across Torchwood; however, it was listed on a channel that I did not have. What the hell...

Then about two months ago, I found the Torchwood episodes online. JT and I recently started watching the episodes and last night we finished season one then started watching the first episode of season two. I love this show because it is definitely science-fiction oriented but also caters to adults more than most other science-fiction television shows. Probably the biggest shocker for me of the season was discovering that Captain Jack Harkness is bisexual... and even one site I found online says that he is pansexual. I suspected tendencies in earlier episodes and definitely sometimes when Captain Jack looked at Doctor Who, but I did not know for certain until the Torchwood episode where Captain Jack Harkness met the real Captain Jack Harkness (who he stole his identity from).

Looking forward to continuing on with season two.

Watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles Pilot for Free on Yahoo TV a Week in Advance

I was going through my Google Reader feeds this evening and came across a post that Yahoo was going to have The Sarah Connor Chronicles Pilot on their site starting today. I thought it was too good to be true, but I then decided that it had to be legit if it was Yahoo right?

Sarah Connor Chronicles

I went to the site and the entire 45 minute pilot is there. We watched the pilot and I enjoyed it a great deal. You can check out the video on Yahoo for free. This is more than a week in advance from the Fox premiere on January 13. That is pretty cool. So far the plot is excellent and if you are a Terminator fan you should enjoy it. Never seen Terminator? I think the show will pick up new fans too.

I am looking forward to more episodes and more advance shows on Yahoo... or whoever else wants to jump on the bandwagon.

New Knight Rider 15 Second Teaser Trailer

Have you heard about the new Knight Rider coming back to NBC? It will premiere on February 17, 2008. I am pretty excited about this because I was hooked on the original 80s series. See the second trailer at the end of this post.

Here is a 15 second teaser trailer that NBC aired during Sunday Night Football.

With only 15 seconds... I suppose teaser is an understatement. Regardless, I will be tuning in on February 17.

Second trailer:

Almeida Returns in Season 7 of 24

I did not watch the 2007 World Series... (perhaps I am just a bitter St. Louis Cardinals fan) so I missed the original airing of the 24 Season 7 Trailer, about a week and a half ago. Last night, I remembered hearing about it and I decided to look it up. The official site kept freezing my FireFox browser, so I hopped on over to YouTube.

JT and I enjoyed the trailer and we were especially surprised to see the return of Carlos Bernard in his role as Tony Almeida. The trailer leads us to believe that Almeida has returned from the dead and is now the bad guy. Or maybe things are not quite the way it appears? And the end of CTU? About time... I got tired of seeing CTU get blown up, held hostage and all the other crap they went through.

I have been a fan of 24 since day one and I look forward to the seventh season.

I Cannot Believe That Sherri Shepherd Does Not Know the World Is Not Flat

Please advise me where, The View co-host, Sherri Shepard was educated because I do not want my children to go to that school. I was in complete disbelief while I watched this You Tube video:

I can accept that someone may not agree with the theory of evolution. But to not know the world is round is complete nonsense. Hello Sherri, I have a problem with that. Were you nervous when Whoopi asked you the question? You did not appear to be nervous. You are used to being in front of the camera. That could not be the reason. So let us go back to the assumption that you really did not know the answer. Have you never seen a picture of the earth from space or had a globe in your home? I guess not.

*sigh*

I am truly disgusted.

*Update* Thanks Eaglehawk for letting me know that YouTube removed the video. Leave it to YouTube to ruin a moment. I found that the video is still up at the Huffington Post. 10 Things I Do When I Have Nothing Else to Do

1. Spend time with the twins. This includes but is not limited to having our own battle royal, WWE style, reading books, drawing what comes to mind on the Magna Doodle and watching Dora the Explorer.

2. Surfing the Internet. I spend hours doing this and probably if you ask JT... I spend way too much time surfing the internet. I do a lot of productive things though... really I do.

3. Sleep. I cannot seem to get get enough of it. Love sleep.

4. Call a friend or family member. I like to keep the calls kind of brief unless there is a hot topic.

5. Researching ways to make money online. I am very determined to bring extra income in this household.

6. General reading. In addition to reading to the twins, I also like to read to JT. We just finished reading the latest Star Wars book in the Legacy of the Force series. Luke Skywalker is still the man.

7. Watching Netflix movies. Netflix is the greatest.

The Price is Right

Q. If you were a contestant on The Price Is Right, what game would you most want to play?

A. Plinko... hands down.

And speaking of The Price is Right, we will all miss Bob Barker as host because of classic moments like this:

LMAO. I never get tired of watching that.

3D? Yeah Right

Thankfully, the rug burn on the backside of my leg has healed. Don't laugh... you do remember when I told you about when I fell downstairs about a week ago right? You still laughing huh? Stop laughing. No really, stop. It has been itching so I know whenever something itches it has healed or is healing. The vitamin E and A&D ointment helped speed up that process.

JT and I had a chance to watch the 3D version of Medium, which originally aired on November 21. Of course we had it taped on TiVo. JT was so thoughtful to remember and buy the TV Guides that had the 3D glasses. As we sat down to watch the episode, we felt like two bouncy and overly excited children when we ripped apart the glasses from the perforated sheets. I had no doubt that JT would make the event into a competition... and he still won, but I wanted to make sure my glasses didn't rip so I took my time. Yeah, I'm sticking to that story. I don't know why, but I thought that the entire episode was going to be in 3D. Instead, when the 3D logo appeared in the top left corner of the screen, this meant that a 3D scene was upcoming so put your glasses on. There were only two really good scenes in which an object appeared to be really coming out at you. One occurred when a guy (who will nameless so I don't spoil it for anyone) threw a butcher knife at someone's back. Now of course this was nothing like watching Jaws in 3D when I was just a seedling and JT claims that King Kong was in 3D as well. I didn't get scared at all when the knife flew into her back... I didn't even flinch. But at least we knew the glasses worked. Overall, I enjoyed the kiddy-like excitement from JT and I and the episode was fairly decent.

The weather was ass-backwards today, starting off at 51 degrees in the morning and I think in the evening hitting in the low 30s. That's St. Louis weather for you.
