Thanksgiving 2005
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.
JT really made a strong effort to make my Thanksgiving great… and I’m thankful for that.
I’m thankful for my life, my sanity, my children, JT, my family, my friends, a roof over my head, my job and my cat.
We didn’t get to go to the Turkey Day football game and I wasn’t sad about that because a couple days ago I was pretty sure that the plan probably wouldn’t go down accordingly. I later found out from my best friend Tiffany that Webster beat Kirkwood (my alma mater) by one point. I would have truly been pissed if I were at that game. Especially because it was a home game.
We did get to go to both families’ homes for the festivities. On the other hand neither family was finished cooking when arrived. I wasn’t upset but my stomach sure was hungry. And when I’m hungry I get stupid. So the little things like feeding the children and everything else, became much more difficult than what it should have. When William bit my finger by accident while munching on turkey, I pretty much gave up. Later… we ate at my mom’s house and then I finally had a moment to eat, I had been waiting all day to sink my teeth into a Thanksgiving feast… and I was hardly hungry at all. This always happens. Every time I delay eating to later eat a big meal, i.e. holidays and outings at buffets, my stomach pulls this trickery on me. On the bright side of things, the day still went very well and we have LOTS of leftovers in the fridge now.
William and Keisha are nearly over their colds. I’ve found that best remedy has been keeping them hydrated with lots of juice and water. William has two molars and one incisor coming in. This will make a total of eleven teeth… Keisha still has eight, but I’m sure she’ll have more soon.
Accident report: Today William fell down at least fifteen times, but on one particular fall, he bit his lower inner lip which created a bump on the outer cheek and he bled for a short period of time. I immediately grabbed my son to console him, wiped his mouth, gave him some water and loved him up. He is fine now but the bump remains. Keisha had several falls but no minor or major repercussions.
