When is the Witch Coming?

We watched Enchanted last night via Charter On Demand. The movie was much better than I thought it would be. An excellent choice for a family movie. I even found myself singing along with Giselle. This is extremely odd for a person who is not very fond of musicals.

I turn into mommy mode when I watch certain movies with the kids. What does this mean in this sense? I am extra cheerful, smiling and giggling to get the kids involved and sharing the happy moment with them. The only thing that I did not care for was William kept chanting, “When is the witch coming Mommy?” After about the tenth time I stopped responding and made eye contact to William to hush. When the witch finally made her appearance in reality, William was non-responsive. Go figure. Keisha enjoyed the movie as well and as always was overly dramatic during the scary moments. I held her in my arms tightly to protect her when a dragon made an appearance in the film.

The twins respond to scary things differently but surprisingly they handle them better than I did as a child. When I was younger, if something was scary on the television, I would run into another room or stay in the room with my eyes completely covered until the scene or movie was over. William will just chant, “I’m scared Mommy. I’m scared Mommy,” yet he will keep watching the show. All he needs is for me to acknowledge that he is scared and we can carry on. Keisha will start bouncing around on the bed or floor with a slight scream, “I’m scared,” and hide behind JT or myself if she can get to us quick enough. Still after all the drama, she still watches the show. Keisha also wants acknowledgment that she is scared or she will keep bouncing all over the place.

I will be adding Enchanted to my collection shortly. Another Disney movie in the family archives. In the meantime, I am watching Judge Dredd. His motto is the same as mine in my house: I am the Law.

To be honest, most of the people will rather prefer the good ending, especially for the fairy tales based movies…

However, I thought it would be fun, if the ending is slightly different…

I have to admit that I am a sucker for happy endings but in a few movies I did enjoy the bad guy winning, like in Devils Advocate. And I thought the vampires should have won in Lost Boys.
