Wednesday Mind Hump

William’s hemoglobin count was 9.4 today which was better than his count of 8.9 four weeks ago.  His hemoglobin count was likely lower last month because he was fighting a cold.  The whole family went over to the hospital today.  I stayed with Keisha in the playroom while JT went with the nurse to have William’s blood drawn for the tests.  JT said that William took it like a champ… he barely cried while the blood was drawn.  This is a major turnaround from two months ago when William kicked and bit me while M. put the IV in his arm.  I am very proud of William and thankful that his treatments are going well.  Tomorrow is his scheduled transfusion.

I have been very tired, even more so than normal, for the last week or so.  Yeah… yeah I am not taking my multi-vitamins.  Let me add that to my 2007 New Year Resolutions.  Take multi-vitamins daily.  Sounds easy, but it is not for me.

Wednesday Mind Hump

1. How old is your microwave?

Eight years old.  I bought it during the summer before I was a junior in college.  I really should buy a new one, but hey it still works.

2. How many times in a day do you use your microwave oven, and what do you usually use it for?

I use it about 2-3 times a day. I usually use it to heat up the children’s food, boil water for tea and to (re)heat up my dinner.

3. What’s your favorite microwavable treat?

Hamburger pizza rolls.

4. Ever had a microwave disaster?

Yes, I was heating up some sweet potatoes for the twins.  I thought I put the timer on 2 minutes and 50 seconds, but I really hit 25 minutes 50 seconds.  When I was upstairs I smelled something on fire.  I rushed downstairs and saw smoke coming from the potatoes.  The horrific smell stayed with the microwave for weeks.
