Quick Pick Up from the Doctor This Afternoon
I knew something was going wrong this morning when I took two puffs of the albuterol sulfate inhaler, yet the pain and tightness in my chest remained. My friend at work told me that happens sometimes when you have asthma… the inhaler is not enough on its own. I thought to myself, what the hell?
I decided to call my doctor to explain what was going on and ask for more medicine. I spoke to a nurse, she took message and then my doctor called back within an hour. When he called back, I explained the symptoms. The pain in my chest is not overwhelming but it does hurt. I also have some wheezing in the late evenings. He advised me to come into the office today so he could give me some Advair.
After opening the Advair box just now, I looked at the package and it reminded me of birth control packaging. Even the flying saucer Advair Diskus looks like a swollen birth control pack. I will take it while I cross my fingers, hoping I do not get one of the many possible side effects. The damn side effects listings on medicines always scare me to death. Now let me try to figure out how to use this flying saucer so I can hopefully have a good evening with my family and sleep well tonight.
