No God Talk At Work Please

Somebody tell me why my health insurance company sent me a thick brochure of listings for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Providers. Are they trying to tell me something? *twitches* For real though, I requested dental information, not mental!! It took a whole five weeks to get the wrong information.
Two things that I don’t like to talk about at work: Politics and Religion. Why? Because these are subjects that are too close to home for many and a lot of people simply can’t handle talking about politics and religion if your opinions/thoughts differ. Another reason why I don’t like to talk about religion is that a lot of people can’t understand how I don’t share their same belief. Example:
Them: “Do you believe in God?”
Me: “Yes.”
Them: “Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and your savior?”
Me: “….”
Basically, why does it matter if I believe in that or not? And you’re asking me these questions at work. You really don’t want to hear what I really believe in, so I rather you not ask. As soon as I tell them what I believe in and why I doubt this and that, they immediately start quoting Bible passages and why I am wrong and what I need to do about it. I didn’t approach you questioning your beliefs, why are you questioning mine?
By using the words ‘them’ and ‘they,’ I am referring to a great deal of people that have approached me with this subject. Agnostic, Catholic, Baptist, Jehoviah Witness, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu… whatever I am let me be, especially at work because whatever I have to say, you are not ready for all that. I’m gonna start telling people I’m Athiest and maybe they’ll shut up or maybe not. For the record I am not Athiest.
