Monday Mission

I am always late with the Monday Mission…
1. Have you ever been looking forward to something so badly that you were just crushed when it never happened?
Yes, I was very excited about going to Virgina Beach this month but unfortunately we were not able to. Perhaps we can go this fall or Chrystal can come visit us in St. Louis.
2. Have you ever been told about a wonderful present that you were never given? Maybe they went as far as telling you exactly what it was, how wonderful it would be and how much they would have loved for you to have it, but for whatever reason, they wouldn’t be giving it to you after all? How did you feel about that?
Yes, my dad did this to me all the time while I was growing up. He would tell me about a car that he was going to get me, but I never saw a car… It made me feel quite disappointed and I am still bitter about it to this day. I will never do my future children like that.
3. What is the longest time you’ve ever kept a secret from someone, or, are you still keeping it? How did it feel to keep it so long? Can you think of a situation you were in where a secret should never have been told?
I have secrets with my that I have never told and plan on never telling. Some secrets should not be repeated, so it feels natural to keep it within. I cannot think of a situation where a secret should not have been told.
4. Have you ever been lied to by someone you trust with all your heart? How did it feel when you found out that trust had been broken?
Yes and it one of the most devasting feelings that I have ever experienced.
5. When, if ever, is it acceptable to tell a lie? Are “white lies” any different than the “real whoppers?”
Well everyone knows that I am no advocate of lying but I suppose the only acceptable moment for a lie if it was some sort of life or death situation. A lie is a lie, point blank but of course there are big lies and there are white lies.
6. How are you on forgiveness? Are you able to easily forgive someone who’s hurt you?
I am not a very forgiving person. This has been something that I have struggled with for a great deal of my life and I am still working on being a more forgiving person.
7. What song gets your feet going and your energy flowing?
Vintage Spice Girls.. umm no really Prince and Tweet get my energy flowing. There are several other artists, but those two popped in mind first (actually JT had to tell me because nothing popped in my mind LOL).
BONUS: Why not come dancing?
Who said I wasn’t coming? Are we having chicken for dinner?
Today’s comment question(s): Do you read this blog on days other than Monday? If not, how come? What would bring you back more often during the week? (yes, this is a shameless attempt at self-improvement)
I read your blog a couple of times a week but mainly for the Monday Mission.

Subject:Dear Sir, I am SANUSI from Zaire, presently known as
Democratic Republic of Congo. I am the son of late Maramotto Sese
Seiko, the former Central Bank Governor, during the regime of his
immediate senior brother, late president Mobutu Sese Seiko of Zaire,
Republic of Congo. I got your contact from Chambers of Commerce and
Industry here in Cotonou. As a result of my discrete search for a
reliable foreign partner, I am delighted to confront you based on a
profile conviction about your experience in investment programme. I now
decided to write you as well as to let you know that I need your
assistance in helping me to invest my money. In fact, I left my country
with a reasonable amount of money, which belongs to my late father
during the time of war in my country when the present government,
controlled by President Laurent Kabila, who sent my uncle away from the
presidential seat , and my father was shot by the rebels, I managed to
leave the country with the sum of (US. $14,000,000.00) Fourteen Million
Dollars, which is with me here in Cotonou, in cash as well. Hoping you
will respond to my call to assist me in investing this money, because I
am totally ignorant of investment and I was in school when the war
broke out in my country. For your assistance and co-operation, I have
decided to bequeath to you, 15% of the total sum involved and 5% mapped
out for any miscellaneous expenses that we may incur during the process
of transferring this money to your country. Moreover, it is risk free
in the sense that I have taken proper care of all the formalities
regarding to this transaction. I am presently 27 years of age and
should not be expected to withdraw this fund from the security firm
where I deposited it for safekeeping till I am convinced that you can
accommodate the money. [...]
