Just a Game

Add another life lost to the list. I heard the sad news about Robert Palmer passing away in Paris, on the MJ Morning Show as I prepared for work this morning. In the eighties (and still… to this day) I was always jamming to Simply Irresistible and my favorite, Addicted to Love. I used to imitate the women in his videos, hair slicked back, guitar in hand, red lipstick, swaying side to side and looking pretty.
The weather is extremely gloomy this morning, lightning, thunder and a light drizzle of rain. On top of that my eyes are puffy, I swear they are swollen three times their normal size. Or at least that is how it feels. My nose is stuffy and I my constant sneezing is becoming annoying. Gotta love Saint Louis weather!!
Did any of you watch the season finale of Big Brother 4 (Wednesday night)? I watched the last hour of it, but if you did not… you did not miss much. There was lots of name calling and mixed emotions, but little to no excitement. The winner was Jun, and because of the lack of congratulations and surplus of “I cannot believe you did this” comments, Jun really did not display any shock or excitement as she was pronounced the winner. If you think about, Alison and Jun really were the best two players in the game. If they were not, they would not have made it to the end. Between Alison and Jun, Jun was less of a back stabber than Alison was and this is why the jury selected Jun with a vote of six to one. I could not understand why Nathan would talk about how hurt he was by Alison, yet cast his vote in favor of Alison. Most of the jury (except for Jack!) failed to realize that the entire series of events was just a game and the most intelligent person in the game deserved to win. I am sure all that back stabbing was well worth the $500,000 prize.
The season opener of ER was pretty good. I really did not expect to hear that Dr. Luka Kovac, played by Goran Visnjic, was dead. The previews had me wondering if he was really dead or was this a flashback to when he was killed? Dr. John Carter to the rescue next week. I watched Friends, but I kind a had this eh! look during the show… the cornrow thing, they could have kept that story line for a rainy day. Will and Grace, I missed that *sigh* because JT and I were watching season two of 24 on DVD. See, we missed virtually the entire season last year because of working two jobs. Gotta finish season two before season three starts next month. We are on a good pace so far… I think the next one to watch is episode nine on disc three. Yes, I forgot about Smackdown all together *sigh*. On the bright side of things, I saw The Rock on the Late Show two nights ago!!
[edit]
I must add that JT cooked a superb meal last night… a four layered lasagna that had my mouth watering nonstop!! He used ground turkey instead of ground beef (… we try to cut down on red meat intake in our household) and smothered the pasta with several cheeses. And yes, I have some leftovers with me right now for lunch at work *drool*
