Colorado Springs Day Two

I woke up this morning rapping to myself, “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” How random… but that was the jam!! LOL

Last night JT and I took a trip to the laundromat *long sigh* I despise going to the laundromat, especially when you have to deal with a crowd, dryer hoggers, funky people or a huge clothing load. We fell into the latter category last night. Somehow we ended up with what appeared as three and a half weeks worth of clothes. I wanted to scream!! The washing was no problem, we use the super duper big washers that cost $4.75 and $3.75. The larger one, we use for the coloreds and the smaller for the whites (why do I always think of something racial when I say that lol). Anyway, the washing only takes twenty three minutes. No problem there!!… but the problem is with the drying. I swear those dryers stop working at the most inopportune times. Either they do not get hot at all or they get hot just a little bit, but someone with some stank breath can dry my clothes by breathing on the load faster than the dryers can. Despite using seven dryers, it took roughly an hour and a half to dry and fold all of the loads. The highlight of the trip to the laundromat was after playing Pac-Man (which is our routine while at the laundromat… and this time I came this close to beating the high score!!) we went over to the washing machines and there was six minutes left on the counter. JT and I looked at each other and the same time, we yell, “Six Minutes!!…” and we start rapping Doug E. Fresh’s, “The Show.” Are we showing our age? LOL

Still, going to the laundromat sucks!!

Oh and the other day (Saturday), I downloaded the latest versions of the internet browsers, Mozilla and Opera. I have to admit that it will take some getting used to… but I do enjoy the features of Opera. I do not really care for Mozilla (yet), perhaps I need to play around with it a bit more. Now, the reason I decided to try alternative browsers is because I am really sick of Internet Explorer crashing and not loading properly. Plus, I like to be different and try new things (when it comes to anything technical/gadget related). I will keep you posted with my Opera and Mozilla experiences.

Now here is part two of the trip that took place a week ago, last Sunday…

Sunday, we went shopping at Super Target!! Am I a nerd for being that overwhelmed about going to a Super Target? Well, we do not have Super Targets in St. Louis and I love Target already so to combine Target with a grocery store and pharmacy… I was simply in heaven *whips out the Target Guest Card* JT bought me a tea presser and warmer. To answer I_boogie, this is what you need to brew the tea when you have loose tea, no bag. I have not used it yet so as soon as I do I will let you know how it turns out. It only costs $19.99 at Target. I could not find a picture of one at Target.com, but I did find this (note the one I have comes with a warmer in addition to the press). We must have spent about two hours in the Super Target lol… afterward, we went over to World Market. World Market is in St. Louis, but this was my first time going there. I love this store!! I racked up on incense, cone holders, got two dragon candles for JT and souvenirs for my family. I should have gone to this store a long time ago… Next, we drove over to meet C’s grandmother. She is a lovely women indeed… stayed there for a while to chat… dashed over to the mall (it was 5pm, mall closes at 6pm). Their mall was great because it had nearly all of my favorite stores. Famous Barr is not there though *puppy dog eyes * C introduced me to Proactiv at the booth and I am pretty anxious to buy this (online because there are no Proactiv booths here) and try it on my facial blemishes.

After the mall, we drove over to the theatre to check the times of evening movies. Naturally, I wanted to see Kill Bill. C’s son, D wanted to see it too but in my opinion he was too young and C agreed. So, D decided to see School Rocks. We checked the times then went to eat at Outback Steakhouse. This was my first time at Outback Steakhouse and I really really really like their food… I had the 12oz sirloin with baked potato (heavy on the sour cream!) and a house salad with ranch dressing of course. The problem was that I filled myself up with the fried onion appetizer and salad prior to the main course. I had plenty of left overs… but this was cool with me since I ended up eating it as a late night snack later. We had a little fiasco with C’s steak… she ordered medium WELL but two times it came out wrong, first time it was medium RARE, second time it was in between rare but not quite well. She did not seem to mind as much as JT and I did. We felt that she deserved to have a steak prepared to her order. C decided to eat the bloody steak the second time around. I am exaggerating about the blood but only a little bit because it WAS actually very RED. Was not dripping with blood but it was damn near close lmao *blows chunks *

The waiter took forever to split our checks in two, then after we paid we headed over to the theatre. Kill Bill was awesome… I would have to say that it is my favorite movie of 2003. I heard that Volume II comes out next February; I am quite anxious about that and Samuel Jackson has a role in the movie too!! I wonder did we actually get to see Bill in Volume I, because according to the cast listing, David Carradine plays the role of Bill. So why did they choose to focus on the shoes of the sheriff after the wedding shooting and Bill? Interesting…

After the movies, we went back home to take a nap. About two hours later we headed back out and went to a club. C, JT and I had a really great time there. I absolutely cannot go into the details of what happened at this time!! In due time my friends lol
