Week 331
You say … and I think … ?
1. Nursery :: Getting our child’s room together. We are going to buy a new crib and put a futon in his room also. This also makes me think about my breastfeeding situation when I go back to work.
2. Side effect :: Whenever I take medicines I [...]

What is…
1. One place you volunteer (or would like to)?
I would like to volunteer to work for a United Nations Ambassador. Since it is one of my dream jobs and on the list of goals, what better way to learn than to be a volunteer or intern?
2. One book you’d like to see made into a movie?
Any book written by R.A. Salvotore with Drizzt Do’Urden as the main character.
3. One creature (living, extinct, or mythical) you’d like for a pet?
The dragon-like creature, named Falkor, from The Never Ending Story. He is kind of big though so I am not sure where I would put him.

4. One place on Earth you’d like to visit?
Egypt. I am connected to Africa, particularly Egypt (do not ask me to explain that now) and I hope to travel there one day.
5. One talent or skill you’d like to develop?
I would love to start playing the violin (again) and learn to play the piano.

String :: Violins. I love the sound of violins and I miss playing it. Maybe I can pick up lessons again one day.

How Long… Friday Five
October 6th, 2007
How long can you hold your breath?
Sadly, I cannot hold my breath for much longer than one minute. Not much of a surprise after finding out I had asthma.
How long do you wait to cut your hair?
I do not cut my hair very often. I get the split ends clipped a few times a year. The last major hair cut was 5 months ago.
How long do you normally wait at the grocery?
I really hate long grocery lines. I suppose the average time that I wait in line is about 3-5 minutes. There is an art to grocery shopping and picking out the right line. Here are seven rules that I just came up with, for keeping the grocery line wait short.
Rule #1 Do not go in the self check out lane unless you know what the hell you are doing. People who get in that line with no clue… You suck.
Rule #2 Do not get in the line then decide you need to go back in the lanes to get five more items. I hate you.
Rule #3 If you take your children to the store, keep them under control.
Rule #4 Do not be embarrassed when you have more food items in your basket than the amount available on your food stamp (called EBT here) card. You should keep track of the amount.
Rule #5 If you see me with only 2 items, yet you have two baskets full of crap, let me go in front of you. It is the only right thing to do.
Rule #6 Have your method of payment ready, i.e. check, debit card, credit card, cash… Do not dig for pennies, have that shit together.
Rule #7 If you cannot calculate in your head, carry a calculator around with you when you shop. That way, when you get to the register and they ring you out, you will be within your budget. Do not be embarrassed when you do not have enough money to pay.
Have more rules? Leave a comment…
How long can you sing a song without getting the lyrics wrong?

Week 243
Say … and I think … ?
1. Crook :: Most politicians in the world come to mind… a bunch of crooks.
2. Career :: My dream career is to be a diplomat for the United Nations.
3. Freckles :: I have a lot of freckles on my cheeks.
4. Scramble :: I am often scrambling around to get my things together for work in the mornings.
5. Mistake :: I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I try to have no regrets.
6. Telephone :: I really do not care to give out my home telephone number because I like to have as much peace at home as possible. For people that have my cell phone number, well you may not get a hold of me at home either… because I do not carry my cellphone around me. Bad habit.
7. Thank you :: When someone says thank you, that means a lot to me.
8. Obstruction :: People that wear large hats in church, concerts and movie theatres cause major obstructions in my view. I want to yank their hats off so bad.
9. 24/7 :: I remember when I was younger, we went to a grocery store that was open 24/7 for the first time. We would go there late late late at night just because we could. The store name was Rockbottom off of South Lindbergh Boulevard and Watson Road.
10. SciFi :: One of my favorite genres of movies and books is science fiction. Favorite science fiction movies include: The Matrix Trilogy and Star Wars (Episodes 1-6).

Week 242
Say … and I think … ?
Singles :: Kraft cheese singles are delicious. I really do not care for the off brand cheese. Kraft is smooth while some of the off brands taste like crap.
Blaze :: Campfires, roasted marshmallows… smores, hayrides. I have never been on a hayride. Maybe I can go with JT and the twins one day.
Sandwich :: My favorite sandwich is a Subway roast beef and turkey on wheat bread with lots and lots of mayo, little mustard, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, black pepper, lettuce and American cheese.
Outside :: I am really not an outdoor chick, but I can appreciate a beautiful autumn day. Taking the children to a park and rolling down a hill into a pile of colorful leaves. Peaceful.
Gooey :: Gooey butter cakes are an extreme weakness for me. I drool on myself every time I see them in Walmart or Sams Club. I really could use one right about now. I have been a good girl though… I have not bought any in several months. My primary care physician would be proud.
Industry :: I heard on the news the other day, that the interest rates were coming down. I hope that this has a positive effect on the purchase of homes for individuals and families.
Exclusive :: Unique and genuine is what first came to mind.
Randomly Friday Five
September 22nd, 2007
Did you write a list to Santa when you were little? Do you write a Christmas present wish list now?
Yes for many years I wrote a Christmas List, but it was never to Santa. I also wrote it to my mom. Now that I am all grown up, I no longer write but I do give one verbally to family members.
What are the top 10 things on your list this year?
I actually had not thought about that yet until reading this question. I would like to have some new clothes. I really need to work on getting some business suits. Gift cards to a local spa and nail salon would be nice. Anything from my wishlist here would be great (especially the complete Seinfeld DVD collection that comes out in November. Love that show. Well the wish list brings me well over ten things, so on to the next question.
What are the three (or 1, 2, 4, 5) best presents you ever received as a child and why?
As a child, I one of the gifts I received every Christmas was Legos (as I asked for) so that was a wonderful thing. Other than that some gifts that stand out are NES (Nintendo), Sega Genesis and SNES (Super Nintendo). I do not remember the exact years that we (my brother and I) received them but I remember being excited as hell and playing the games into the wee hours of the morning.
What are the top 5 movies you think everyone should see and why?
Exhaustion Tuesday Twosome
September 18th, 2007
What are two ways your relieve exhaustion?
Listen to music (see previous post) and take a hot bath with lavender oils or rock salt. Feels so good.
What two daily activities/chores do you find exhausting?
Folding clothes… actually washing and drying clothes is easy, but I hate folding the clothes. I am also not very good at keeping my bedroom tidy. Cleaning it is very exhausting.
Do you generally wake up exhausted or go to bed exhausted?
Monday through Friday mornings I wake up exhausted because I really really really do not want to go to work. Saturday and Sunday, I go to bed exhausted because I stay up late.
What is more exhausting? An unwanted telephone call or running into an acquaintance you barely remember?
When you are the most exhausted, what two things do you wish the most?
I feel that running into someone I barely remember would be more exhausting because it would be hard to wiggle myself out of the conversation and fake my way through it. On the phone, I could act like the signal dropped on the cell phone and just hang up.

10 Things I Do When I Have Nothing Else to Do
September 18th, 2007
1. Spend time with the twins. This includes but is not limited to having our own battle royal, WWE style, reading books, drawing what comes to mind on the Magna Doodle and watching Dora the Explorer
.
2. Surfing the Internet. I spend hours doing this and probably if you ask JT… I spend way too much time surfing the internet. I do a lot of productive things though… really I do.
3. Sleep. I cannot seem to get get enough of it. Love sleep.
4. Call a friend or family member. I like to keep the calls kind of brief unless there is a hot topic.
5. Researching ways to make money online. I am very determined to bring extra income in this household.
6. General reading. In addition to reading to the twins, I also like to read to JT. We just finished reading the latest Star Wars book in the Legacy of the Force series. Luke Skywalker is still the man.
7. Watching Netflix movies. Netflix is the greatest.
