Train Up a Child
The verse from my YouVersion app hits the nail on the head this morning. Proverbs 22:6 KJV “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” See it…
Soap Operas Are Like Crack
…For me at least, and I would suspect many other people because some of them have been around for several decades. Just like after my first pregnancy with the twins, I have been watching soap operas non-stop. Not matter how…
Before Your Time
1. Of television programs that aired before you were born, what’s your favorite? I Love Lucy of course. 2. What person of historical significance was from your neighborhood or city? My favorite poet: Maya Angelou. 3. What’s a story that’s…
Wordless Wednesday

William had some pretty nice artwork on the fridge last night with his refrigerator magnets. I wanted to take a picture of it for Wordless Wednesday, but the very next moment I looked, he already rearranged everything. Oh well. I love watching William and Keisha play with their alphabet and shape magnets on the fridge.
Do you remember playing with them when you were younger?

Randomly Friday Five
Did you write a list to Santa when you were little? Do you write a Christmas present wish list now?
Yes for many years I wrote a Christmas List, but it was never to Santa. I also wrote it to my mom. Now that I am all grown up, I no longer write but I do give one verbally to family members.
What are the top 10 things on your list this year?
I actually had not thought about that yet until reading this question. I would like to have some new clothes. I really need to work on getting some business suits. Gift cards to a local spa and nail salon would be nice. Anything from my wishlist here would be great (especially the complete Seinfeld DVD collection that comes out in November. Love that show. Well the wish list brings me well over ten things, so on to the next question.
What are the three (or 1, 2, 4, 5) best presents you ever received as a child and why?
As a child, I one of the gifts I received every Christmas was Legos (as I asked for) so that was a wonderful thing. Other than that some gifts that stand out are NES (Nintendo), Sega Genesis and SNES (Super Nintendo). I do not remember the exact years that we (my brother and I) received them but I remember being excited as hell and playing the games into the wee hours of the morning.
What are the top 5 movies you think everyone should see and why?
80s Cartoons
My theory is that there should be a channel on digital (or oogital if you bootleg your shit) cable or satellite that is strictly for cartoons from the 1980s. Next to the 1950s-60s when Looney Toons, Flinstones and Tom and Jerry came about, the 80s was the best cartoon era. The Smurfs, He-Man, She-Ra, Jem, Care Bears, TMNT, Thunder Cats, Voltron, Muppet Babies, Rainbow Brite, Dungeons and Dragons, Fraggle Rock (not really a cartoon, but you get the point), Inspector Gadget and I cannot leave out Transformers!! There are plenty of other classic cartoons, but these were my favorite of my generation. Every Saturday morning, I turn on the local channels (and a few satellite channels) and all of the cartoons are CRAP (excluding Dora the Explorer, Rugrats, Batman and X-Men Evolution). Sponge Bob sucks ass, that’s all I have to see. The CARTOON part of the show is fine, but I don’t see the comedy in the real world part with a sponge on a stick *smh* Yu-Gi-Oh! is nothing but a path to the devil for young children. That show has way too many demonic implications for younger children. And Pokemon… I’m not going to get into what I think of that show.
