Autumn

Happy First Day of Fall to all of you Autumn lovers.
Unlike most people, you will hear me booing and hissing in the background. This is the beginning of a season (followed by another) that I absolutely cannot stand. While the leaves on our deciduous trees change from green to an artistic mixture of yellow, orange and a tad of red, my allergies and sinus problems arise. In the midwest, there is generally no warning for weather change. One day may be ninety degrees and three days later it is seventy degrees. And to add to that, I hate Winter even more. I think I was destined to live in a more steady and calm climate like Arizona. Nice dry heat… no humidity (like St. Louis) and no allergy problems!!
My body does not handle drastic weather changes very well. I wake up sneezing and coughing almost every morning. Sudafed becomes my best friend, but not my only friend because I am sure to never become too attached to any medicine. In our home, I have reduced some of the problems. Earlier this year, I purchased an air filter at Target. I have it sitting in the living room right now and the filter has cut down on the dust and dander in the air. I think my sneezing and coughing would drastically decrease if I could have filters in every room. Expensive? Yes, but I think the purchases will be well worth it and not to mention it will cut down on my Kleenex and Sudafed expense!! The filter I would absolutely love to have is at Sharper Image, but they must be insane for charging $349.95. Even for the smaller desktop version, they want $229.95… *speechless* Umm yeah when my income gets a little higher I will consider buying these. Jokes aside, I have studied the filters in the catalogs and in the stores several times and if you have allergy problems and can afford them, I recommend them.
I just read Tee’s post and it sounds like she is going through the same thing as me. Feel better Tee <3
Meanwhile, in the news. It is always good to be reassured that Americans are not the only crazy people in the world. The headline reads: Rent-a-husband Comes to Aid of Russian Women (click the headline for a link to the full article).

JT and I saw Underworld last night. It was not my number one favorite vampire movies (favorites here and here, but the movie was entertaining nevertheless. I especially enjoyed how the main character, Selene lept and landed from tall buildings… and the concept of silver nitrate and UV ammunition was quite interesting.
