Weekend Story
I had a decent weekend. Saturday was my first day back at my job. I told my manager about how I got a new job, but I still wanted to work there part-time. He reacted better than I thought; however, he jokingly refers to me as ‘deserter’ to everyone that walks by or talks to.
I’m really excited about this new job. 10.07.02. I need some more professional outfits, so I will be ordering a few out of my new Lerner’s catalog. The messed up thing about Lerner’s catalogue is that they put ALL the good shit in the catalogue and none of that stuff is in the store. They force the working woman to buy all the suits through the catalogue.
Saturday evening, JT and I saw Ballistic at Esquire theatre. Initially, it was an easy decision between Ballistic and The Barber Shop. I was strictly in the mood for action, so I chose Lucy Liu over Cedric the Entertainer. I still intend on seeing The Barbershop, despite the recent controversy in the movie. Ballistic was… okay. The plot was surprisingly good; however, there was not enough action for me. I dozed off twice, which means the movie lacked something, which was action in this case. Antonio Bandera’s character, Sever, looked weak against Lucy Liu’s character, Ecks. The choreography of martial arts was decent as well. I enjoyed the writer’s and director’s intentions of Ecks as a villianess-heroine, but if there is a sequel, the casting crew and director must have someone who can provide more action. Antonio Banderas is oh-so-no Jackie Chan. How about Jet Li in the sequel?
The unfortunate thing is that Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever came in fourth in the box office this weekend with a measly $7 million dollars in 2,700 theatres. Ouch.
Let’s see, after the movie we went to Wendy’s. I don’t eat Wendy’s that often, so I had a taste for it. I ordered a #6 (spicy chicken sandwich combo) and JT had a #1. After about ten minutes we got our food, the french fries were extremely hot and sitting on top of the sandwiches so I didn’t really feel like checking to see if the order was right. *hint, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDERS FROM THE DRIVE THRUS* I get home, all excited to dive into my sandwich and watch something good on tv. I flipped through the channels and found, Along Came a Spider. Ok, on to the food. I look over at JT’s burger, mmm looks delicious. I pull out my fries, dump them on a plate, unwrap my chicken sandwich…burnt on the corner, ugh, I ripped of the burned corner then I pull up the bun to see if they added double the mayo as requested. Little to no mayo, then I notice that there is nothing else on the sandwich, no lettuce no tomato, what the.. So I called Wendy’s to let them know how incompetent they were lol and I went to the fridge, grabbed the mayo and slopped it up on the sandwich. I made the best out of that burned, naked chicken sandwich.
Last night, I ordered the WWE PPV, Unforgiven. I was extremely disappointed, but I enjoyed having my friends over *sigh.*
