6 Thangs

My friend Billy tagged me here at his website. Over the years I have written quite a few posts that have little known facts about me, but I will try to not be too repetitive. So here we go…
6 little known facts about me:
1. When I first tried calamari, I was tricked into eating it. JT was right, if he told me it was squid, I would not eat it. Early in our relationship (about seven years ago), we went to Red Lobster and ordered an appetizer that had calamari in it. I asked him what calamari is and he said don’t worry you will like it. I kept asking and then he said that they were fried onion rings. I thought to myself oh, I like onion rings. I dipped the calamari in the sauce, said that they were delicious then JT told me the truth.
I hate being tricked into eating new foods. …But yes, I still love fried calamari.
2. I do not like wine, champagne or beer. I know, what the hell is the matter with me? I have not come across any type of these drinks that I like. If you have something in mind, please leave a comment as a suggestion.
3. I have many dreams where I have supernatural powers. I often dream about flying and having Bewitch-like powers. Does this mean anything deep down or did I just watch too many reruns of I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched as a child?
4. I am an unorganized person at home and an extreme pack rat. I keep many things with the intention of, oh I will add this to my scrapbook. I have many many many books and no where to put them. I yearn for a gigantic home where I can have a library all to myself.
5. Within the next two to three years, I plan on going back to school. I am going to get my Masters degree and I will not look back. I miss studying Arabic and Farsi. Time to work toward my long-term goals in life.
6. I am scared to death of swimming, but the strange thing is that I used to know how to swim. Something went wrong between the ages of 4 and 5 (when I learned how to swim) and age 12. Maybe I will tell this story another time.

Nice selection. You know, I often dream of you in a wonderwoman outfit, perhaps it’s related!
I once tried octopus, it’s nasty. Never tried squid though. My suggestion for a wine-introduction is something sweet like a Lambrini, if you can get a hold of those in the states. It’s really a perry drink but it’s wine-like enough to make you fit in! Work from that into other young light wines like a soft rosé lambrusco.
btk (by no means a wine expert, if it’s wet I’ll drink it!)
Thank you Billy. I will have to look out for that wine. Maybe Wholefoods has it. They have a vast selection of wine.
Oh my, Nexy. I’m also loved Fried Calamari too lol
Believe it or not, I used have a “Third Eye” like Jennifer Love Hewitts in “The Whisperer”, where I can see the ghost when I was young, but it suddenly disappeared in my 6th Grade…
Honestly, I was kind of relief that I lost the ability, as it isn’t a fun experience at all!

If swimming is like riding a bike, that does not apply to me. I am scared as hell when I get in water. But when I ride my bike I am just fine. No matter how long I go without riding it.
i don’t do wine or champagne and will only drink beer if it’s a bitter shandy, do you do spirits (the alcoholic not the ghosty sort!)?

I loved “I dream of Jeannie” :) And I can often fly in my dreams too. I think sci-fi novels and Jeannie have that effect on everyone.
You should try Irish coffee !!
Kudos on wanting to go back to school, it’s a big step but an important one if that’s one of your goals. Interested to hear your swimming story…
I love I Dream of Jeanie! I always dream of super powers. I think many of us do. Your writing style is good.
Any update on your Arabic or Farsi yet? Such beautiful languages and well worth studying.
