How I Redirected Missnexus.com Traffic to www.Missnexus.com
September 25th, 2007
Redirecting traffic from missnexus.com to http://www.missnexus.com was a much easier fix than I suspected.
Of course to start, I simply Googled the search term permanent 301 redirect which takes you here. I few links down on the first page of results, I found this website that laid everything I needed out clearly.
You need to have access to your .htaccess file to make the following edit. I opened it up in Notepad. After you opened the file, to redirect domain.com to www.domain.com add this code:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
Of course change domain to your domain name.
To Redirect www.domain.com to domain.com
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
After you edit .htaccess, save it then upload to your server. Yes folks it is that easy. I will definitely be sure to check out the SEO grade results of http://www.missnexus.com to see if my changes increased the grade.

Week 242
Say … and I think … ?
Singles :: Kraft cheese singles are delicious. I really do not care for the off brand cheese. Kraft is smooth while some of the off brands taste like crap.
Blaze :: Campfires, roasted marshmallows… smores, hayrides. I have never been on a hayride. Maybe I can go with JT and the twins one day.
Sandwich :: My favorite sandwich is a Subway roast beef and turkey on wheat bread with lots and lots of mayo, little mustard, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, black pepper, lettuce and American cheese.
Outside :: I am really not an outdoor chick, but I can appreciate a beautiful autumn day. Taking the children to a park and rolling down a hill into a pile of colorful leaves. Peaceful.
Gooey :: Gooey butter cakes are an extreme weakness for me. I drool on myself every time I see them in Walmart or Sams Club. I really could use one right about now. I have been a good girl though… I have not bought any in several months. My primary care physician would be proud.
Industry :: I heard on the news the other day, that the interest rates were coming down. I hope that this has a positive effect on the purchase of homes for individuals and families.
Exclusive :: Unique and genuine is what first came to mind.

Did you write a list to Santa when you were little? Do you write a Christmas present wish list now?
Yes for many years I wrote a Christmas List, but it was never to Santa. I also wrote it to my mom. Now that I am all grown up, I no longer write but I do give one verbally to family members.
What are the top 10 things on your list this year?
I actually had not thought about that yet until reading this question. I would like to have some new clothes. I really need to work on getting some business suits. Gift cards to a local spa and nail salon would be nice. Anything from my wishlist here would be great (especially the complete Seinfeld DVD collection that comes out in November. Love that show. Well the wish list brings me well over ten things, so on to the next question.
What are the three (or 1, 2, 4, 5) best presents you ever received as a child and why?
As a child, I one of the gifts I received every Christmas was Legos (as I asked for) so that was a wonderful thing. Other than that some gifts that stand out are NES (Nintendo), Sega Genesis and SNES (Super Nintendo). I do not remember the exact years that we (my brother and I) received them but I remember being excited as hell and playing the games into the wee hours of the morning.
What are the top 5 movies you think everyone should see and why?
I Cannot Believe That Sherri Shepherd Does Not Know the World Is Not Flat
September 21st, 2007
Please advise me where, The View co-host, Sherri Shepard was educated because I do not want my children to go to that school. I was in complete disbelief while I watched this You Tube video:
I can accept that someone may not agree with the theory of evolution. But to not know the world is round is complete nonsense. Hello Sherri, I have a problem with that. Were you nervous when Whoopi asked you the question? You did not appear to be nervous. You are used to being in front of the camera. That could not be the reason. So let us go back to the assumption that you really did not know the answer. Have you never seen a picture of the earth from space or had a globe in your home? I guess not.
*sigh*
I am truly disgusted.
*Update* Thanks Eaglehawk for letting me know that YouTube removed the video. Leave it to YouTube to ruin a moment. I found that the video is still up at the Huffington Post. Direct link to the video is here: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1184514351/bctid1184493037 and the article is here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/09/18/new-view-cohost-sherri_n_64864.html
I Really Should Move to Arizona or Another Dry State
September 20th, 2007
Last Saturday was very busy because of the twins’ birthday party. The party was a success and I had a great deal of fun until the latter part of the evening. I started wheezing and having severe shortness of breath. At one point the shortness of breath was so bad that I had to lay down on the couch while JT, my mom and Dot cleaned up after the party. I struggled to go to sleep that night. For a long while, I had to sleep upright in the bed. Some time during the night, I pushed away my pillow seat and laid all the way down.
I thought the cause was due to the allergy season, but after talking to my dad the next day, he had me worried about all kinds of things. Of course he quickly went down all of the family history of ailments… hypertension, heart disease, etc… On the other hand, none of them seemed to relate to my symptoms. He encouraged me to go the emergency room, but I was immediately reluctant. I really did not want to shell out $100 for the emergency room. It just did not quite feel like an emergency. Yeah yeah… I diagnosed myself. If it was that bad, it could wait until Monday when I could go to Acute Care. Dad did not feel so good about my decision, but he made me promise that I would go in, first thing Monday and I made the promise.

Exclusive Amateur Video of Thailand Plane Crash
September 18th, 2007
I came across this in an email from TheNewsRoom this afternoon. The video is not very long, but indeed a powerful video because it captures the moment. My thoughts and prayers go to the survivors and family and friends of those that did not survive.
The video was taken by Swede Christopher Marken who survived the crash of a Thai budget airline on the Thai island of Phuket on Sunday, September 16, 2007. The plane crash killed 89 people in Thailand’s worst air disaster in a decade.
