I went to a new doctor today. He was very kind and agreed that I should start on the medicine that Dr. J discussed with me last week. I have to admit that I am scared to take the medicine because I am not good at taking anything everyday at the same time and because of the possible side effects. This evening, Dr. B assured me (or at least tried to) that if the medicine didn’t work for me, we would try another prescription.
We’ll see.
I will schedule a follow up appointment in four weeks.
It is hard starting over with a new doctor. Medical release statements… I just always feel weird when I sign those.
My energy level is very low today. A couple of times at work, I debated coming home because I was extremely exhausted, my voice was hoarse and I had difficulty concentrating. I haven’t been motivated to do anything that I should be doing.
I hope that I can get a good sleep tonight.
Tomorrow begins day one of four to six weeks.

Today, William, Keisha and I spent the day at my mom’s house. I started out the morning quite energetic at 7am. I washed a load of clothes, loaded the dishwasher and made a nice breakfast for the family. After about 10am it was downhill from there… I had several sneeze attacks and I could feel sinus pressure coming on. I should have known this was coming because the pattern is set. Sore throat first, then sneezing, runny nose, congestion and finally the coughing. Everytime the weather changes drastically, (it was 75 degrees yesterday and now it is about 30 degrees!!) my body is like… WTF.
My mom took care of the twins and I. As I suspected, William and Keisha did not want to take their regular nap in the morning once they arrived at Nana’s house. My mom made a great effort to get them asleep while she played a Baby Einstein DVD… but no results there. They had lunch at around 12:30pm and within an hour they reluctantly took a nap. Mama and I then ate a late lunch; she fixed a delicious fried chicken salad. As I stood up to go into the livingroom with my salad, Keisha woke up… and she was wet all over, but of course I didn’t realize this until after I picked her up and the entire left side of my t-shirt was wet. My lunch was slightly interrupted to say the least. As Keisha cried, she woke up her brother. I knew that was coming. Mama thought that she could get them back asleep… Nope. I went into the dining room to finish eating my lunch, then when I finished I switched places with Mama to watch the children while she ate.
Around 4:30pm, while the children were the kitchen with their Nana getting a snack, I dashed upstairs to take a nap. I had a nice nap… about two hours, before I woke up to turn on Extreme Home Makeover on ABC. I don’t regulary watch that show, but I find it compelling when I do happen to catch it on TV. During the rest of the evening, I struggled with the sinus pressure, sneezing and a runny nose.

I woke up this morning with another sore throat. I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and this bitch ass (this is no understatement) prescribed me an antibiotic. Of course it wasn’t amoxicillin because I’m allergic to that family of meds. The sore throats stopped within 2 days and I continued the medicine as prescribed. Prior to that… I had sore throats every morning for 3 weeks. It started off as a bad sinus infection. I took some Nyquil… actually Wal-quil ROFL to alleviate the symptoms. The bad congestion went away but the sore throat stayed. After a while, I said okay that is enough. One weekday morning I called the doctor’s office as soon as it opened. Unfortunately with my HMO that is the way it works; if you are sick, you call that morning to try and get squeezed in with a doctor. I was on hold for a total of 45 minutes before a nurse said, “Okay can you come in at 1:20pm?”
So I went in at 1:20pm. After pre-registration downstairs (they claim this cuts down on the time) as usual, I played along with the waiting game. A nurse took my weight and blood pressure… then I waited. An LPN came in… she was fairly nice but I became inpatient when the questions were repetitive. Afterwards, the same nurse from earlier came in to take a strep test. Negative. Waited some more. Then the bitch ass nurse enters. From the beginning she talked down to me as if I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about. She felt I had allergy problems more so than a sinus infection and she suggested Claritin over the counter. I was like… umm no, if that was the case and it was allergies I wouldn’t be having a sore throat for almost a month. I felt like I had to diagnose myself and do her damn job for her. Reluctantly she prescribed me what hell I actually needed.
