Dessert Test
November 30th, 2005
I received this in an email as a forward and instead of forwarding it to a bunch of people that probably woudn’t read it, I decided to share it here.
If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose?
Pick your dessert, then look to see what psychiatrists think about you. You can only pick one.
Angel Food Cake
Brownies
Lemon Meringue
Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing
Strawberry Short Cake
Chocolate on Chocolate
Ice Cream
Carrot Cake
NO, you can’t change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully what your choice will be. Okay, now that you’ve made your choice, this is what research says about you.
ANGEL FOOD CAKE: Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times
BROWNIES: You are adventurous, Love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.
LEMON MERINGUE: Smooth, sexy and articulate with your hands. You are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don’t try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.
VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING: Fun loving, sassy and humorous. Not very grounded in life, very indecisive and lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: Romantic, warm and loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional at times.
3D? Yeah Right
November 28th, 2005
Thankfully, the rug burn on the backside of my leg has healed. Don’t laugh… you do remember when I told you about when I fell downstairs about a week ago right? You still laughing huh? Stop laughing. No really, stop. It has been itching so I know whenever something itches it has healed or is healing. The vitamin E and A&D ointment helped speed up that process.
JT and I had a chance to watch the 3D version of Medium, which originally aired on November 21. Of course we had it taped on TiVo. JT was so thoughtful to remember and buy the TV Guides that had the 3D glasses. As we sat down to watch the episode, we felt like two bouncy and overly excited children when we ripped apart the glasses from the perforated sheets. I had no doubt that JT would make the event into a competition… and he still won, but I wanted to make sure my glasses didn’t rip so I took my time. Yeah, I’m sticking to that story. I don’t know why, but I thought that the entire episode was going to be in 3D. Instead, when the 3D logo appeared in the top left corner of the screen, this meant that a 3D scene was upcoming so put your glasses on. There were only two really good scenes in which an object appeared to be really coming out at you. One occurred when a guy (who will nameless so I don’t spoil it for anyone) threw a butcher knife at someone’s back. Now of course this was nothing like watching Jaws in 3D when I was just a seedling and JT claims that King Kong was in 3D as well. I didn’t get scared at all when the knife flew into her back… I didn’t even flinch. But at least we knew the glasses worked. Overall, I enjoyed the kiddy-like excitement from JT and I and the episode was fairly decent.
The weather was ass-backwards today, starting off at 51 degrees in the morning and I think in the evening hitting in the low 30s. That’s St. Louis weather for you.
The Siren
November 27th, 2005
During the past two weeks, I’ve begun to have less and less spam on this site and that darlings… is a very good thing. I just thought that I would share this information.
When I woke up at about 7:45am I briefly panicked because I didn’t hear the children calling for me. I forgot that I left the baby monitor off from the day before. I went to the restroom, did my thing, then walked into the nursery and saw that William had climbed out of his bed for the second night/morning in a row. I’ll have to assume that he hadn’t been lying on the floor in between the two cribs for most of the night. He is obviously doing this so slick that neither JT nor myself don’t know about it until we get to their room. I hear from JT’s mom that JT used to do the same thing and this is no surprise that the stuntman genes run through William’s veins. JT will lower the crib AGAIN, but all I can do is hold my breath, keep the nursery childproof and hope that he doesn’t get hurt. Keisha has climbed out of her crib… I think only twice. Once she cried only because she startled herself and the other time she sat there on the floor chilling with her brother. Needless to say, the twins like adventures.
I laid the children down for their morning nap at about 9:30am then woke JT up for breakfast. We cleared some shows off of the precious TiVo then we spent some well-deserved quality time together. When the children woke up from their morning nap, I asked JT if he could fix their lunch because I was still exhausted. The total nap time was about two and one-half hours. I really needed that sleep. I could have used some more, but I decided to wake up at about 2:30pm because we were going over JT’s mom’s house in the evening for dinner.
Tweak Tweak
November 26th, 2005
Today was much more draining than what it should have been. We ended up going to bed at about 1am this morning. I ate a very late dinner, watched an old episode of The Bernie Mack Show and JT came home from work. Then we cleared out some shows on TiVo. I really should have been in bed about three hours before that but I like to wait up for JT since we don’t have much time to spend together… alone. Even now, I find myself trying to hang in there and wait up for him, but my eyelids are drooping very low. Plus, I’ve been tweaking my website and I’ve found it difficult to put my laptop aside because I keep finding something else to add or change.
The twins had only one real nap today and that was the morning nap. I attempted at getting them to take an afternoon nap but about thirty minutes into the nap, Keisha woke up crying, which eventually woke up William. During their morning nap, I laid down to rest but I kept waking up and thinking about a variety of things. So yeah, I’m tired.
Keisha only grinded her teeth a couple of times today and I was thankful for that. We had our second night of leftovers but at dinnertime the children weren’t very hungry at all. For William the reason could have been because he is teething with three new teeth or because he was sleepy. With Keisha, more than likely because she was sleepy, but if not she usually just follows whatever William does to be spiteful. I’m proud to report that there were no serious accidents today.
Kennedy… Kennedy

Ahh. Finally it is indeed Friday… but you know what, I woke up thinking that today was Monday. And all of last night, I just knew that it was Sunday. Holidays during the midst of the work week throw everything off. Right now, I really should be catching up on some sleep but I feel like writing a bit and catching up on recorded TiVo shows (this evening I’ve cleared of George Lopez, Days of Our Lives, Lost and Smackdown). The TiVo is still nearly full with Alias, Charmed, Medium, ER, The Apprentice, X-Men (the cartoon), South Park, American Dad, Family Guy, Everybody Hates Chris, The Simpsons, House, Bones, Nip Tuck, Supernatural and Desperate Housewives. You would think that filling up a 30GB hardrive TiVo would be difficult, but nope we’ve managed to accomplish this without any problems. TiVo is the greatest.
I still need to eat dinner too. I’ll do that in a bit. The twins ate leftovers for dinner, they really dig the turkey and of course they like sweet potatoes. They also ate dressing and macaroni. Keisha likes to dance (semi) naked in her diaper and run around the livingroom like a little Ewok. She giggles nonstop while I chase her around the room. The not so good habit that she began today is grinding her teeth. I absolutely detest that sound. I much rather hear someone scratching chalkboard with their nails. Now that’s saying a lot. I tried to lightly tap her in the mouth to let her know to stop that. Unfortunately, each time I did this she gave a me a pitiful look that read, “Mamaaaaa why you do that to me?” For the sake of a headache-free weekend, I really hope that she drops this new habit quick.
Thanksgiving 2005
November 24th, 2005
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.
JT really made a strong effort to make my Thanksgiving great… and I’m thankful for that.
I’m thankful for my life, my sanity, my children, JT, my family, my friends, a roof over my head, my job and my cat.
We didn’t get to go to the Turkey Day football game and I wasn’t sad about that because a couple days ago I was pretty sure that the plan probably wouldn’t go down accordingly. I later found out from my best friend Tiffany that Webster beat Kirkwood (my alma mater) by one point. I would have truly been pissed if I were at that game. Especially because it was a home game.
We did get to go to both families’ homes for the festivities. On the other hand neither family was finished cooking when arrived. I wasn’t upset but my stomach sure was hungry. And when I’m hungry I get stupid. So the little things like feeding the children and everything else, became much more difficult than what it should have. When William bit my finger by accident while munching on turkey, I pretty much gave up. Later… we ate at my mom’s house and then I finally had a moment to eat, I had been waiting all day to sink my teeth into a Thanksgiving feast… and I was hardly hungry at all. This always happens. Every time I delay eating to later eat a big meal, i.e. holidays and outings at buffets, my stomach pulls this trickery on me. On the bright side of things, the day still went very well and we have LOTS of leftovers in the fridge now.
William and Keisha are nearly over their colds. I’ve found that best remedy has been keeping them hydrated with lots of juice and water. William has two molars and one incisor coming in. This will make a total of eleven teeth… Keisha still has eight, but I’m sure she’ll have more soon.
Oh Clumsy Me
November 21st, 2005
Since I was pregnant, I’ve become more and more clumsy. I’ve had my share of accidents since childhood but never nothing on a consistent basis. This evening I was printing some wallet-sized pictures of the twins and I was so ecstatic about how well they turned out /geek that I decided to show JT, who was downstairs. I grabbed the printed photos and thought to myself, well let’s save a trip and grab these two big empty boxes for the trash. I carried the boxes in my left hand and the pictures in my right and began to walk barefoot downstairs. Okay… well not quite walk and not quite run, but I took two steps downstairs and the next thing I know, my left thigh and butt are hitting the stairs, I’m reaching for the banister and I nearly fell all the way down to the bottom of the staircase. I was literally scared the death, everything was moving in slow much. The last time I was this scared about falling was when I fell down in the computer room when I was pregnant. After I fell down on the stairs, a few seconds went by before I said ouch and I’m not really sure why that moment went down like that. JT yelled what happened, ran over and I told him that I fell downstairs and hurt my leg. I have a really bad rug burn on the back of my leg that happens to be above a scar. JT eased the pain by applying a vitamin E capsule to it. When we picked up the children from my mom’s house, Mama gave me a pack of gauze. The gauze helped further alleviate the pain because the skin wouldn’t have direct contact with my nightgown and the bed.
And oh yeah… we got to see Harry Potter, which I feel was the second best of the series, behind the first. JT feels that it was the best of all four. I’m anxious to see the fifth of the series since this one was the first cliffhanger.
This Close
November 20th, 2005
Today could have potentially been a whole lot worse than what it was. I was pretty close to overreacting over something small. I felt strong about the point I was trying to make but it made less sense to keep fighting to prove it. I slowly eased away from a close argument. That isn’t always easy… backing away from an argument. Even when I just might not be right, I have a hard time not defending my point.
We didn’t get to go to see Harry Potter tonight, so I suppose we will go tomorrow as originally planned.
Quiz Time
November 19th, 2005
Here are a few math teasers that a co-worker shared with me. Can you figure them out?
1. Find the five-digit number in which the first digit is two more than the second, the second digit is two more than the third, the fourth digit is two less than the third, and the last digit is two more than the fourth. the sum of the third, fourth, and fifth digits equals the first. The sum of all the digits is 19. What is the five-digit number?
2. What is the number that is one-fifth of one-tenth of one-half of $15,000?
3. The following is what seems to be a mathematical proof that two equals one. What’s wrong with it?
a = b
aa = ab
aa – bb = ab – bb
(a + b)(a – b) = b(a – b)
a + b = b
a + a = a
2a = a
2 = 1
