Earthlink Versus SBC
February 25th, 2003
Ok, how did I miss the series finale of Oz on Sunday? Aah yes, I watched that pile of shit aka, The Grammy Awards. Thankfully, the show is repeating on HBO.
I’m switching my DSL service providers from Earthlink to SBC. I never thought I would go with SBC Yahoo! (formerly known as Southwestern Bell–at least here in St. Louis), but their current promotion sounds pretty good. UPS delivered my SBC package today, but I was at work. I miss having a REAL mailbox, but here in the city in a four-family flat, my mailbox is tiny. Very frustrating. Normally, I would have them redeliver and leave it in (a real) mailbox. But you can’t put shit in a mailbox that is no bigger than this wallet (note I love Coach).
So as I wave goodbye to Earthlink, I shall shed no tears. There customer service is whack and their techs are idiots. The only postive thing coming out of Earthlink DSL was that my service ha only been done about eight times in a two year duration.
In a couple of days, I’ll see if I made a good decision or not.
But nothing can be worse than dial-up, right?
Redhead Joke:
A young redhead goes into the doctor’s office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it. “Impossible,” says the doctor. “Show me.”
Age of Mythology Rules Me
February 24th, 2003
Not sure what happened to the Monday Mission. I was looking forward to posting that. What a spectacular weekend full of laziness. Yeah every now and then I feel I deserve a weekend of getting absolutely nothing (practical) accomplished. Of course, I spent time with JT, which was lovely, but as far as cleaning up *looks around*… nothing done there. I probably spent a combined play time of eight hours of Age of Mythology this weekend. If you know me, you know I love strategy games. I also have Age of Empires II in my gaming collection. My theory with pc gaming: I play the game non-stop for about two months until I beat the game or I feel the game has taken over me. At the end of that duration, I will step away from the game usually by uninstalling it from my harddrive. That dramatic? Yes, because as you can see, I’m nearly approaching that with Age of Mythology. I know I’m not bad like some teens that you hear about that play games 24 hours straight, but it is bad enough.
Alias is such a great television show. I missed the WWE PPV (No Way Out), because I decided that we shouldn’t go to Hooters because of the snow storm. Unfortunately we DID NOT get enough snow for my building to be closed.
Meanwhile, the 45th Annual Grammy Awards… well they couldn’t possibly have been more boring than what they were.
Friday Five
February 21st, 2003
1. What is your most prized material possession?
My scrapbook.
2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest?
One of my stuffed animals is as old as I am *smh*
3. Are you a packrat?
Unfortunately, yes.
4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum?
Somewhere in between, how about that?
5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there?
No theme yet. I’d like to have an exotic African-Egyptian kind of theme.
No Work Today Please
February 20th, 2003
I really don’t want to go to work today. I need to look elsewhere. I can’t believe that I was watching this show last night. Maybe since the girl was from St. Louis, I felt connected . Was I really that bored? No, just too lazy to flip through all of my satellite channels. I did tape the season finale of Birds of Prey (the preview looked good). I hope that WB doesn’t cancel the show like FOX left Dark Angel hanging. I don’t watch that much television like I used to, but I try to stick to my favorites.
Meanwhile, people are wishing that it wouldn’t snow and I wish it would snow about four feet (at least) so the building for my job would be closed.
A Hope For New Beginnings
February 19th, 2003
Whoa, it feels good to be back.
I’m sure you can tell, the layout is not new, just rearranged. Which mimicks my life perfectly. A hope for new beginnings. I’ve gone through a great deal in the last few months; trials and tribulations. I’m hoping for new beginnings in my life. I missed working on my site dearly and a few days ago I decided to sit down and put time into my hobby once again. I have a few kinks to work out here and there. I’ll be sure to fix them soon.
Things I’ll be working on: adding new poetry and a digital gallery.
Drop me a comment :D
