Random Questions

November 7th, 2002

In the opening scene of Nappy Roots’ video, Po Folks, is that a poster of The Rock on the wall?

How about we have ‘Spring Forward’ and ‘Fall Back’ for Daylight Savings Time cancel each other out and we won’t have to change time at all?

Why did they cancel the Cosby Show?

Why is Skinemax aka Cinemax such a tease with their TV-MA shows late at night; a whole lot of ‘T’ but no ‘D’?

Everytime I ride the bus, it stinks on there. Why is that?

Why do guys get mad if women don’t want to give them their numbers? Especially when you come to us with nothing but ignorance.

Has any black person won a reality-based show since they’ve been popular? Or am I the only one that thinks they are rigged?

How did Seinfeld make a show about ‘nothing’ so damn funny?

Whose nostrils are bigger, Mario’s or Patrick Ewing’s?

I’ll have some more random questions for you later. Feel free to post yours in the post a comment section!

General Election Day 2002

November 6th, 2002

Yesterday was Election Day and I hope everyone had an opportunity to get out to the polls. I am disappointed in the Missouri US Senate race. As of about twenty minutes ago, Reprensentative Jim Talent was leading in the Missouri Senate race against Senator Jean Carnahan. With approximately 66% of the precincts reporting, Talent was leading 52 – 46%. The Carnahan team was still smiling and hopeful but it doesn’t look too great for them at the moment. The only thing Jim Talent and I have in common is that we both graduated from the same high school and university. Other than that, on a politcal stance, I do not share hardly any of his views. I feel that Senator Carnahan is/was the stronger candidate.

Also, Janus has another movie review for us! Check that out here.

Monday Mission and Crap

November 4th, 2002

My day was kind of crappy. After an entire weekend of pain, my headache just went away today. I didn’t think I would make it to work, but I went anyway. Something made me check the syllabus and I saw that we were scheduled for a test today. I didn’t have time to make a full lunch so I made sure to grab one of my vanilla nutritional drinks and a box of kleenax decorated with Christmas designs that I bought from Target for my desk at work (whew… nice run-on sentence there). I made good timing to the bus stop and I sat my bag with my drink and kleenax down on the stone ledge as I double checked my pouch for my bus pass. My bus arrived a couple of minutes late, I walk onto the bus and five minutes later I realized that I left my bag! My nutritional drink and kleenax are gone! So they didn’t cost hardly anything and the bag was a plastic grocery bag, but that is not the point. My Ensure nutritional drink along with a muffin from the quickie shop is my breakfast! My bus got stuck in traffic so I was running about a minute and a half behind. I didn’t have time to buy my blueberry muffin like I usually do. I ran upstairs and my manager tells me (and a woman in the clasroom across from mine) to “try not to be late. Being on time is important.” Ok so where has he been for all those times people have been fifteen and even thirty minutes late. I didn’t really get mad, so I just nodded and went on about my business. After the workshop I rushed downstairs to grab a low-fat blueberry muffin. I grabbed what I THOUGHT was a blueberry muffin. Well, it was low-fat but what I grabbed was a damn chocolate muffin. I was so pissed, I thought I was going to scream in class. Without my Ensure, I was starving so I decided to pick out the chocolate chips and eat it anyway. I was not pleased at all.

Friday Recap and Stuff

November 2nd, 2002

Yesterday was a rough day. I worried myself over a test at work and some other stuff. I did pretty well though. There were twenty questions and I missed two, so if you can do basic math you’ll know that that is ninety percent. The two that I missed I shouldn’t have. It always works like that; I do a stupid mistake or misread the question. I’m averaging about a 90 on all of my tests. I have about twenty-five to go *sigh*

The end of my afternoon was extremely tiring. I struggled to stay awake as usual. I decided to straighten up my desk area and gather some old papers to recycle them.

Rewind: One of my instructors is visually impaired. He encourages class participation. Yesterday, he gave us fruit roll ups and candy bars as rewards for correct answers. The bad part is how he gave them to us. He threw them to the person after he/she answered. Now I wouldn’t have a problem with that if the person wasn’t a VISUALLY IMPAIRED person throwing it! It was all funny and stuff until Erin got hit in the chest when he was actually trying to throw it to Debbie behind her.
